3 Essential Minor Chords For Gypsy Jazz Guitar

In this video I’ll teach you 3 essential ‘Minor’ chords we play in Gypsy Jazz.

I got a question from Jay Cooper who was asked “Could you show us some useful minor chord voicings?”

Here are 3 popular and useful voicings we play in gypsy jazz.

1. Gm6 G-E-Bb This is the most basic shape and extremely useful!

2. Gm6 G-D-Bb-D This uses the thumb to play the root and sounds more open.

3. Gm6 E-Bb-D-G This one has the root (G on the top played with the pinky)

Memorize all 3 of these shapes using the video and hear the different sound they all make.

It’s about learning these small gems and absorbing them into your playing that will make you a better player.

If you have a question fire away I’d love to answer it.

Have fun and swing out!
